The Magaliesberg is one of the oldest mountain ranges on earth — quartzite ridges raised more than two billion years ago, long before the Drakensberg, long before the Alps. The farm sits in a valley shaped by that immense, patient geology.
We farm here with that fact held clearly in mind. What we plant, what we raise, what we leave entirely alone — each decision is made in service of the mountain that made the valley possible.

The farmhouse was raised from stone quarried from the Magaliesberg ridge itself — the same ancient quartzite that has watched over this valley for two billion years. Beams cut from windfall tamboti. Floors worn smooth by decades of bare feet at dawn.
Nothing was imported that could be made here. Nothing was built that did not belong here. The farm does not compete with the landscape. It surrenders to it.

The table is the longest ritual we have.
The kitchen garden sits at the foot of the mountain, fed by a spring that has not stopped running in living memory. Figs from the trees planted before the farmhouse was built. Lamb from the lower pastures. Bread from the same wood oven every morning since 1923.
The menu is decided by what the land chose to give that day. Dinner begins at dusk. It ends when the last log burns down and the Magaliesberg sky fills completely with stars.
